Amanda Van Wagner joins our team as the region’s only Certified Child Life Specialist at a preschool and daycare! Amanda has many years of experience working with children from birth through early adulthood in a variety of settings, including with children on the Autism Spectrum and behavioral disorders. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University in 2011, and her Master of Science degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from The University of Pittsburgh in 2014. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) currently working in the Emergency Department at CHOP and she previously worked in the NICU. She helps our family with childhood growth and developmental issues, including coping with starting school, stranger anxiety, routine changes, transitions, behavioral issues, and serves as a knowledgeable mediator/support between staff and family. Amanda also helps our educators with proper curriculum development. She and her husband live in Conshohocken with their identical twin boys who were born in September 2021!
